WHAT WE STAND FOR
Forward Engineering (FORWARD) is a global development and consulting partner specializing in enabling the design and development of cost effective lightweight mixed material fiber reinforced polymer and composite intensive structures. The headquarters are located in Munich, Germany with offices in Japan, China and the United States.
FORWARD has supported the realization of some of the most exciting developments in new vehicle architectures. From concept development through series production validation of polymer and composite intensive mixed material designs; FORWARD supports OEMs and Tier Suppliers enabling the realization of functional lightweight solutions of increased value beyond lighter weight.
FORWARD’s unique capabilities in “Production Based Engineering” and “Simulation Driven Design” accelerates product development, from concept through detail design phase, resulting in reduced iterations during FEA/Crash Simulation, higher confidence levels in detail design as well as production capable and validated solutions with accurate cost estimates. Georg Käsmeier studied mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Munich, specializing in lightweight construction and functional structures as well as production management. After his studies, he worked in the development department at Fritzmeier Composites. As co-founder of Roding Automobile, Georg Käsmeier became managing director and was responsible for CFRP body development and engineering services. Georg Käsmeier is managing partner of Forward Engineering GmbH.
Robert Maier studied mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Munich, specializing in lightweight construction and functional structures as well as production management. After his studies, he moved to UnternehmerTUM, the entrepreneurship center of the TU Munich. As co-founder of Roding Automobile, Robert Maier became managing director and was responsible for business development, design and engineering services. Robert Maier is Managing Partner of Forward Engineering GmbH, Managing Director of Vestaro GmbH and Managing Director of KDX Roding Europe Automobile Design Center GmbH.
