The Roding Roadster is a small series sports car in innovative CFRP lightweight construction. The technology demonstrator
shows how weight and cost objectives can be met even in mass production, using innovative construction methods.
With an overall weight of 950 kg and a powerful BMW drivetrain with 320 hp, the super sports car offers outstanding
driving performance due to the optimised power to weight ratio. The modular CFRP vehicle platform is built up
in four segments and therefore is very suitable for fast realisation of derivates, e.g. using an electric power train.
„Adaptive City Mobility“ is an all-embracing mobility concept for urban regions. With three columns: electric lightweight vehicle
of the L7e category, manual battery change system and cross-linking with„location based services“, the overall
system adresses not the end user, but fleet operators. The vehicle architecture has a modular design and enables
a cost effective, individual realization of cabin structures. Forward Enfineering and Roding Automobile GmbH
are responsible for the vehicle engineering and implementation of the trial prototypes.
“Your friendly neighborhood mobility solution.” With these words, our customer Local Motors characterizes the
autonomously driving small bus. Driven completely electrically, the itinerary of Olli can be influenced via an app and
allows organising a customer friendly mobility within the closer neighbourhood. Forward Engineering has developed
the modular structure of Olli, using an aluminum frame construction and composite parts as well as 3D printed parts.
The idea and look of Olli were born in a „crowd sourced innovation“ process.
